Medical-legal partnerships

Our Medical-Legal Partnerships (MLP) program identifies, in collaboration with the medical team, what legal needs a healthcare patient and their family may have, so as to make a positive contribution to recovery. Our first such partnership in Québec was established with the Montreal Children’s Hospital (MCH).

Free legal services from a Justice Pro Bono lawyer are available in the hospital to assist families of sick children who may be coping not only with illness but an array of legal issues as well.

MLPs help further legal and health equity, while also improving patients’ overall well-being.

This service is available exclusively to patients in healthcare facilities that have entered into an MLP with Justice Pro Bono.
